Phase Goal: Supportive Housing
$3,000
Sometimes we hit a bump in the road, a streak of bad luck. Sometimes there's just nowhere left to go...
Homelessness is an unfortunate problem both in our own backyard and throughout the country. In King County, over 8,300 families and individuals don't have a place to live. In the US, more than 671,000 people are homeless. All of them are just like us; people with stories to share, problems to solve, and dreams to come true.
We here at United Way of King County have been dedicated to ending homelessness. Our campaign to end chronic homelessness gives our community's most vulnerable a home to live and the services they need. In 2007/2008, we invested over $25 million to building housing, funding shelters, supporting food banks, and taking steps to prevent people from falling into homelessness in the first place.
Of course, everything we do wouldn't be possible without the support of our community and people who want to make an impact. Join us in our cause and help end homelessness. There's lots of ways for you to get involved: donating, volunteering, voicing your opinion, learning more or even just talking about homelessness with your friends and coworkers.
